SECTION A  (20)

Answer all questions.

Question 1:- Read these lines and answer the questions that follow.                            [2*3=6]

It still at last

And the leaves bushed.

a.    What is the setting of the story? What strange sights and sounds do you think the Otis family saw and heard when they moved in?

b.    Describe how the Rose-Beetle Man was dressed.

(Attempt all questions. Each question has 5 marks.)

 

A)  Underline the adjectives in the given sentences and state their type.
  i) There are a few lotus plants in the pond.

ii) There are some boys in the hall.

iii) There isn’t any sugar left.

iv)  Are there any rose plants in your garden?

v) That gate is newly installed.

 

B)  Identify the verbs and their objects in these sentences. Pick out the direct objects and indirect objects, if any.
  i) He gave the poor man some food.

ii) The security guard blew his whistle.

iii) The guard rang the school bell.

iv) He looked at the fish swimming in the water.

V) You should tell them the truth.

 

C)  Fill in the blanks using articles. Put an X where no article is required.
